Reflection
My artwork shows a dystopian world where human beings’ obsession with technological development finally causes the drastic rising of sea levels, and many cities that represent advanced human civilization are drowned. In my digital painting, children are swimming around the sunken Statue of Liberty, trying to win a swimming competition. At one point in the not-so-distant future, the most important skill children should acquire is swimming instead of STEM knowledge. By choosing children swimmers as my subjects, I wish to create a sense of urgency for my audiences and make them aware of the dire consequences of their lack of actions today on future generations.
