Each year, 8 MILLION METRIC TONNES of plastic are dumped into the ocean. That itself tells us what our world has come to. My piece is an artistic representation of what our Earth would look like in the future if nothing is done to stop this onset of a plastic world.
Our beautiful planet has been termed “The Blue Planet” because of the water that covers most of the its surface. But garbage is thrown into the oceans unscrupulously as it has been thrown for decades. My piece shows an earth with oceans that are full of plastic that mankind has dumped into our pristine oceans.
My piece is an artistic representation because after it remains in the water for some time and is acted upon by the sun, the plastic becomes micro plastics that are smaller than 5mm in size . These are then injected by various organisms and ultimately travel to humans causing various diseases.
Well it is rightly said “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
