We are facing one of the biggest problem in our lifetime: climate change. Climate change poses as a threat to our environment, the ecosystems, and our very own health. This dire situation will lead to huge consequences which makes me wonder why aren’t we addressing the situation as a vital problem. In my art, I illustrated a variety of morose-looking marine animals crawling into a person’s house to seek refuge from the deteriorating state of their own home. Most animals are covered in algae from an algal bloom, caused by the rising ocean temperature from climate change. The scenery outside shows the unending fumes of pollutants released into the air, which is a well-known major cause of climate change. The boy holding the fish bowl filled with clear and clean water represents each individual and their action taken to help the situation. Now, let us ask ourselves, if we are not willing to house the animals whose homes we have destroyed, what can we do to prevent it from even happening?
