I feel that global warming is something most people ignore. Sure, we know it exists and that it’s probably a big issue, but we rarely think about its effects on ourselves. Some people go as far as saying climate change doesn’t exist. However, I wanted my artwork to say, “LOOK HERE! LOOK WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US!” The people in my painting are mostly unaware of what is happening around them. They go on with their daily lives without looking at the melting world they are placed in. Despite an incoming tsunami and factories spewing smoke everywhere, none of the people try to make a change. The polar bear in the painting represents not only the Earth, but all of the animals across our globe being affected by climate change. The bear is dripping away, like ice cream on a hot, summer day. Soon, the Earth we live in might become inhabitable, which is why I hope my painting will shed light on how serious the problem of global warming is.
