Climate Hero: Morton Coutts, DB Export
Reflection
Reflection

Our creative journey started because we really love the ocean and want to protect it. We discovered a really cool machine called the wine bottle crusher made by DB Export Company. It gave us the great idea to create a hero, inspired by the founder Morton Coutts. We decided to tell his story using stop-motion animation, which is a magical way to make things come alive on screen. In our video, the hero recycles glass bottles and saves the ocean. We didn't know anything about stop-motion animation at first. We had to learn how to shoot it from scratch. Even though it was challenging, it was also lots of fun. We're only 11 years old, but we felt like real artists making this animation. When we asked our friends about marine environmental protection, we found out that they knew a little, but didn't know what they could do to help. So we decided to let everyone at our school know how they could join us. We made posters and badges to give out as rewards and put them up in our classroom. Some of our friends promised to walk or bike to school every day, and some teachers said they stopped using plastic plates and cups. Our school even agreed to show our posters and videos to encourage more students to join us. This whole experience is just like a growth journey. We learned how to write a script, shoot, and edit stop-motion animation, and plan a fun event. But we also learned that it's important to look at things from different perspectives and work together as a team. We hope that our video will make people realize that they can make a difference and that even small actions can help protect the environment.
