Reflection
My artwork was inspired by a nightmare I had. The significant and devastating impacts of climate change on our planet, especially on the melting glaciers and the effect it had on marine and arctic animals. In my dream, I found myself sitting on a small, melting glacier, surrounded by dead polar bears and penguins. I woke up with a deep sense of urgency to convey my vision through my art. I hope I can raise awareness and inspire actions to prevent my nightmare from becoming reality. I started my creative process by translating the imagery into a visual piece. I sketched several drafts, and every draft brought me closer to capturing the sense of urgency and despair i felt from my nightmare. In my research, I learned about the extensive and devastating impacts of climate change, especially on polar bear regions and marine life. I discovered how the rising temperature led to the melting of glaciers, which caused sea level to rise and loss of habitat, which resulted in death of animals. This shows the interconnection of our environment and the need to address climate change. The scene from my nightmare, now depicted in my art, serves as a powerful warning of what could happen if we do not take immediate action to address climate change. But I believe that with everyone participating and putting in efforts, it will prevent my nightmare from becoming a reality.
