Reflection
With the passing of time and our climate getting hotter and hotter, the natural beauty of the ocean and its animals are diminishing. The ocean is no longer at the beautiful natural state that it used to be. Eventually, if this trend continues, the ocean will become so polluted and will change so much until it is the point of no return. My artwork represents how we are choosing to mass produce things in factories with no regard for the consequences of it, and in doing so, choosing to slowly ruin our ocean and affect the climate. The thermometer represents the timeline of our animals, and how as time goes by, our ocean’s temperature increases. Therefore, as the climate gets warmer, the animals living in the ocean will start dying off. In the middle of the thermometer I drew our current situation where the temperature is rising and our animals are dying. I also drew gears on the right to warn people that we are running out of time, and I added languages from all around the world to represent that it is an international problem that everyone caused and should fix. The bars and magazine scraps at the back represents a graph, and the bars represent the buildings and factories. As they start to develop, the temperature rises along with it. My drawing is a warning to tell people that if we don’t do something fast, our climate will continue to change, and our animals will continue to die off.
