The 2023 Bow Seat Yearbook features the work of our Visual Art, Poetry & Spoken Word, Creative Writing, Film, Performing Arts, and Interactive & Multimedia winners of the 2023 Ocean Awareness Contest. Each year, the Contest invites students from around the world to explore the connections between human activities and the health of our blue planet, with a focus on humans’ roles as both problem-makers and solvers.

The pieces featured in this Yearbook address the 2023 Contest theme “Climate Heroes in Action,” which encouraged students to uplift a trailblazer who is making strides to fight climate change. These works represent the most inspiring, thoughtful, and provocative of the more than 4,000 submissions received over 80 countries around the world.
