Brilliant Radiance

Young cattle yet to be slaughtered,
in endless fields of remorseful fulfillment.
All left is the apathy of those who once cared.
All left is the refulgence of the foe, once cherished.
For what? For the comical ignorance of our species,
the hamartia which will cause life to splinter before our eyes.
But tragic heroes, we are not.
Yet, the tragedy is to those who tried.
Those who strived to extricate us all from this blistering land.
A hurricane, no two.
We drown beneath the ocean, while the turtles have no place to swim.
Why did the turtle cross the road?
He couldn’t. There was no road.
Now it is the oppressive orb who we condemn.
Should it be ourselves who we despise?
Alas! We shall expire,
owing to the fact that we are the reason for this calamity.
The reason for the mutation of numerous turtles.
Still, the flaxen ball continues to glimmer barbarously.
As irrevocable tears of grief gush down our faces,
she embraces us with her warmth.
And for a slender second, comfort is all we feel.
We can prevent all what may seem inevitable.
All there is to do is,
attempt to convince Donald Trump that climate change is real, combat climate change, and
try not to perish within the process.
We can make peace with her brilliant radiance.
If only we tried…
Reflection
My one message to anyone reading this is: climate change is undoubtedly one of the most serious issues we have faced within the past decades. It is the reason for abnormal weather patterns and hotter (or colder) temperatures. All I request of you is to raise awareness of this consequential disaster.
