Reflection
My film was inspired by my imagination, about the karma we face, as humans, for what we have done to the earth. Sea level rise, which is primarily caused by global warming, is a serious threat to the earth. I wanted to depict the consequence of our disregard towards sea level rising, and on the contrary, a colourful world where our last hopes still exist, in order to emphasize the seriousness of climate change. By showing the change of the main character, I wanted to inspire viewers to feel the importance of saving the earth, as well as have the hope that it is still not too late to change. Throughout the film, the main character is described as a person who is not interested in saving the earth but keeps being affected by the people protecting the environment, including through the television and outside her house. I wanted my film to be exposed to others just like how things around the main character were exposed in the film. As this short film was my first ever animation, this project was fun and very meaningful to me. I want my creation to encourage individuals to take actions with hope, no matter how small they may be, as small actions from around the world create a big change.
