Reflection
Plastic shopping bags and overconsumption of other plastic items such as shampoo bottles, drink cans and plastic bottles cause many problems to the world especially ocean pollution. The majority of wildlife on Earth lives in our seas and oceans. Floating plastic shopping bags can be mistaken as jellyfish by marine animals who consume them. One species that is at risk from the bags are sea turtles. They risk extinction in part because of ingesting large amounts of plastics. Shards of plastic fester in the stomach because the plastic cannot be properly digested. Plastic bags are rarely recycled, whether it be because they become ripped, dirty, or are simply thrown away. Thus, in my artwork I have depicted this issue in an illustration style.
