Global warming is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. People believe it’s an easy fix when in reality it’s very complicated. It will take us more than 50 years to fix the mistakes we’ve created. Global warming will cause significant harm to marine life and humans. Extreme weather events and rising sea levels compromise our food and water supplies and have led to human and animal deaths. We face billions of dollars of damages to homes and our ecosystem. Why are we killing our own planet? I created this art piece with a lot of disappointment and sadness. I wanted people to see what will happen to our future if this problem isn’t addressed. We need global cooperation to combat this travesty. I have joined an environmental group that helps pick up trash on land and in our waters. Everyone needs to have the lowest carbon footprint in order to combat global warming. Personally, in order to lower my carbon footprint, I walk to school, recycle and try not to use electricity. The breakfast table we sit down at to enjoy the first meal of the day could turn into a meal from my broken reality if we do not act now.
