Under the sea,
Is a whole new world
Filled with celebrations and festivals
But my favorite one of all
Is the Underwater Fashion Show
Mother had always said
“You’re too young to go”
But this year I was determined to attend
Because this year was a
Peculiar year
The coral had turned white
Our city was more flooded than usual
Our people were disappearing
But this was quite normal
And nothing was going to ruin my perfect
Fashion Show
It had begun
The lights were off and the models
Appeared one by one on stage
The first was
Larry the Lampfish
Wearing an elegant bottle of mineral water
The drapery was beautiful
I hear you can find them on Myrtle Beach
The next was
Molly the mackerel
She was wearing a gorgeous tutu
Made of plastic bags and
For the hat she chose a bottle lid
Stylish
The fashion show continued
Throughout the evening
Many other designs were brought
Everything from Cups to Pepsi cans
And Spoons, Forks, anything!
But awhile after the fashion show
People started disappearing again
I thought “Oh well, they’ll come back
Won’t they?”
And we’ll have another wonderful
Amazing

Reflection
I wanted to write about what is happening to all the wildlife under the ocean with all the plastic. I took that idea and thought of a fashion show. At the end of the show, we realize that many animals are disappearing, that they are dying due to the plastic they are consuming and being around. My message to readers of my poem is to think before you carelessly throw a piece of plastic into the ocean.
