Not long ago, the ocean was thriving
Deep down, aquatic creatures were hiding
Never seems to change
Such wonderful combination with sunset
Little brightness, the sun is rising
Ignorance is bliss
No, not really
The ocean pitifully wailing in agony
Oil spills suffuse like wildfire
Waves are madly strong
Probably upset by the filth
Life in the ocean gradually recedes
Fishes are dying
Plants are wilting
Oxygen, slowly decreasing
Where is the long awaited healing?
Deterioration
Heart aches when no one seems to care
Such beauty disappears in vain
Irresponsible, mankind acting indifferently
The ocean
Might gone to eternal rest
No longer abundant by great blessing
The unknown kingdom beneath
Someday hoping for reverence

Reflection
This poetry expresses my feelings on how I feel about ocean pollution, especially if it is caused by oil spills from boats or ships. Who should be to blame? Somehow I think mankind is at fault for being ignorant about the whole ordeal. Time is ticking, time does not wait and hopefully ocean pollution can be reduced before the ocean is completely unrecoverable.
