The 2020 Bow Seat Yearbook features the the work of our Art, Poetry, Prose, Film, Music, and Interactive & Multimedia winners of the 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest. Each year, the Contest invites students from around the world to explore the connections between human activities and the health of our ocean, with a focus on humans’ roles as both problem-makers and solvers.
The pieces featured in this Yearbook address the 2020 Contest theme “Climate Hope,” which challenged participants to explore ideas for confronting the climate emergency and to emphasize the role of hope in making meaningful change. These works represent the most inspiring, thoughtful, and provocative of the 5,300+ submissions received from 93 countries around the world.
