The 2022 Bow Seat Yearbook features the work of our Visual Art, Poetry & Spoken Word, Creative Writing, Film, Performing Arts, and Interactive & Multimedia winners of the 2022 Ocean Awareness Contest. Each year, the Contest invites students from around the world to explore the connections between human activities and the health of our blue planet, with a focus on humans’ roles as both problem-makers and solvers.
The pieces featured in this Yearbook address the 2022 Contest theme “The Funny Thing About Climate Change,” which challenged participants to leverage the power of humor, satire, irony, and other unconventional approaches to raise awareness of and inspire action around the climate crisis. These works represent the most inspiring, thoughtful, and provocative of the more than 4,000 submissions received from 83 countries around the world.
