Reflection
This work was inspired by the fight that people are taking on to save the planet. The artistic process made me feel hopeful, engaged, and motivated. When I was creating this artwork, I did so knowing that it would impact someone, whether it was my family, my community, or the world. The message I wanted to convey is that this crisis is an ongoing battle. By making the right choices and supporting the Earth-saving side, we can win the battle to decrease pollution and the burning of fossil fuels. In my research on the climate crisis, I learned that fossil fuels generate over half of the world's energy and release carbon dioxide into the air which warms the climate and causes changes on the global level. Alternate sources of energy such as solar panels, wind turbines, and hydropower turbines can be implemented to create renewable energy. With clean sources of energy, we can decrease the burning of fossil fuels and progress toward a brighter future for our planet. Organizations like Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs that are spreading awareness of this climate crisis give us hope that together we can work toward decreasing pollution and the burning of fossil fuels while increasing research and the implementation of alternative renewable energy sources. Personally, I will continue to spread awareness of this climate crisis in my community to positively impact the world.
