I Care
Las Vegas, NV

Where is all my oxygen
Hold your breath and count to ten
Ocean give me more O2
Even tho you’re drowning, too
We say that it’s natural
But don’t u find it kinda strange
the more we take your mineral
We see greater levels in weather change
Who cares, it’s just the ocean right
Who cares, worry bout it tomorrow night
Give a man a fish
He eats for a day
Teach a man to fish who cares,
They’ll be gone anyway
I care
To see tomorrow day
It ends with the ocean
It starts with air
Me sells sea shells on the seashore
Never seen such a sad sea floor
Land and sea are in a duel
Just stop burning fossil fuel
Give a man a fish
He eats for a day
Teach a man to fish who cares,
They’ll be gone anyway
I care
To see tomorrow day
It ends with the ocean
It starts with air
Just take a look around and you’ll see
A glorious catastrophe
Great Pacific Garbage Patch
The name really has a catch
What will we do with time
Stand up and stop making rhyme
Let’s clean the air, Let’s save the bear
And make everybody aware
Give a man a fish
He eats for a day
Teach a man to fish who cares,
They’ll be gone anyway
I care
To see tomorrow day
It ends with the ocean
It starts with air

Reflection
Reflection
I sat watching the television at the start of this year, finding myself marveled in the newly released Netflix documentary “Seaspiracy.” After turning the tv off, I knew I wanted to do something about our impact on the environment. In Las Vegas, however, it is tricky as there is admittedly a lack of ocean to become involved with. With my microphone, amplifier, and computer music software, I started developing this song about the ocean. Coming from Hispanic background on my mom’s side, I have a love for Latin guitar and therefore created this chord progression that would flow with my message. Using items around my room like maracas, my guitar itself, drumsticks and a desk, I laid the drum pattern found in the track. I used everything but an actual drum kit to give an ocean side vibe with the sounds of chill jam session. My message with this song is to get people thinking about the impact of their actions on nature. We are so reliant on the ocean and atmosphere and many people seem to pass by everyday without ever taking a second to recognize its prominence.
