During their term, FBYC members participate in individual and group initiatives that leverage their skills and passions to advance Bow Seat’s mission and programming, from creating publications and co-presenting at conferences to educating young people about creative advocacy and raising awareness of Bow Seat initiatives.
Future Blue Magazine
The Future Blue Magazine is a collection of student artwork curated by the 2022 Future Blue Youth Council. Within these pages, FBYC members share their favorite pieces from the 2021 Contest and discuss why they found them to be inspirational and memorable. A print version of the Magazine is distributed at in-person events and workshops to uplift student art and amplify youth voices.

Fellowship Grant Program StoryMap
Created by 2023 FBYC member Yuzuna Kudo, this StoryMap enables visitors to experience the transformative impact of our global Fellowship Grant Program through dynamic maps, impactful quotes, and personal narratives. This interactive journey gives voice to the grantees and mentors, offering a compelling glimpse into their personal experiences and the interconnected efforts shaping a more sustainable future.

In their presentation “The Crucial Role of Humanities in Scientific Progress,” members from the 2023 FBYC questioned the prevailing emphasis on climate science when addressing climate change and pondered the potential of integrating artistic expression, storytelling, and cultural narratives to resonate with a wider audience. Drawing from their experiences with the FBYC and Bow Seat, they shared personal anecdotes about bridging the gap between scientific inquiry and human emotion.

Bow Seat x SAGE
Bow Seat collaborated with STEM Accelerates Girls’ Excellence to host an all-new Climate Awareness class. More than 60 students from all over the world signed up for this 6-week session, which covered topics from climate science foundations to important environmental artivists. Participants wrote ocean-based haikus and engaged with guest speakers, which included Bow Seat and 2023 FBYC team members.
